ASHISH KOHLI is a seasoned investment banker with over 15 years of transaction experience across all product groups of investment banking and private equity including leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, private placements, IPOs and secondary offerings, high yield debt and restructuring. He also led IB Training programs in all the firms where he worked including leading the global analyst and associate training program at HSBC in NY and London.
Ashish's experience throughout the US and Europe includes his role as a Principal/Director for the Investment Banking Division of ThinkEquity Partners NY/Panmure Gordon UK in the Corporate Finance Group leading transactions across all industries. He was previously a Vice President of Investment Banking in the Execution Group (M&A and capital raising) for HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. in NY where he executed M&A and capital raising transactions in industries such as consumer/retail, real estate and oil and gas.
Prior to HSBC, Ashish was a Senior Associate for the Investment Banking Division of Jefferies & Company as a Generalist and in the Technology and Media Group where he focused on restructuring and recapitalizations, M&A advisory and capital raisings. He advised Samsonite on its recapitalization and the deal was awarded the 2003 U.S. Middle Market Deal of the Year by Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor.
In earlier years Ashish was an Associate in the Investment Banking Division of Credit Suisse First Boston/Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where he worked in the Generalist and Technology Groups, advising and raising capital for companies across a number of different sectors. He also worked with DLJ's private equity group, one of the leading private equity groups on Wall Street.
Ashish earned an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Dean's List). He is also a Chartered Accountant (US CPA).

AMOL MAHESHWARI leads the IBI training program in London. Amol is an accomplished finance professional with over 9 years experience as an investment banker and corporate finance executive. He has advised on dozens of companies on a wide range of corporate finance and strategic initiatives with an aggregate value in excess of $ 23 billion. Amol has specific investment banking experience in corporate analysis, public and private equity analysis, equity and debt based transaction identification, risk analysis, initial public offerings, convertible debt issuance and restructuring, corporate mergers & acquisitions, and financial restructuring.
Amol is currently Vice President of Investment Banking Strategies at Morgan Stanley in London, where his focus is to analyze company performance and interpret investor expectations built into market valuation. During his tenure at Morgan Stanley, Amol has advised investment banking clients on strategic finance initiatives. He has worked across industries in Europe with a focus on Technology, Healthcare and Industrial companies to value and analyze more than 75 companies with their market values ranging from $ 250 million to $ 100 billion.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in London, Amol was a Vice President in the ModelWare Group at Morgan Stanley in Mumbai, India where he and his team provided investment analytics to internal and external clients. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Amol was a corporate banker in HSBC handling credit analysis and business development. He also managed several strategic process management initiatives and is an award winning Six Sigma Blackbelt.
Amol is a CFA Charter Holder. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore where he was at the top of the class in Corporate Valuation and among the top 5% in Statistics.

JESÚS PUY is a seasoned investment banker with over 18 years of transaction experience in Europe and the Americas. He has structured more than 3.3 billion € of debt in a wide array of complex financial products such as wrapped debt, project finance, acquisition finance, future flow securitizations and asset based finance. The international press has granted the “deal of the year” award, in four occasions, to transactions where he has been actively involved.
Jesús’ experience includes his role as Director of the monoline Financial Security Assurance, FSA, where he was the founder of the Madrid representative office. In FSA he designed the financing of several large infrastructure transactions. Prior to joining Financial Security Assurance, he was the Director of Structured Finance for the investment banking unit of Caja Madrid, where he lead the bespoke financing activity of Caja Madrid to its major corporate clients. Jesus’ team was in charge of structuring, underwriting and syndicating the project finance, acquisition finance and asset based (vessels, aircrafts) finance business in Caja Madrid.
Before joining Caja Madrid, Jesus was the Head of the Specialised Finance Division of Banque Nationale de Paris –currently BNP Paribas- in Madrid, where he was in charge of Project and Export finance. Jesus started his professional experience in Bouygues, where he was development & field engineer in Saur, Bouygues’ water and environment subsidiary.
Jesus was a member and speaker of the Spanish Government Official delegation of the US – Spain Infrastructure Forum in 2002 and was also the speaker, on behalf of the European bank community, at the Latin American Energy Organization in 2000.
Jesús is a MSc. in Mining Engineering by the Madrid School of Mines and holds a Master in Management by the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) of Paris where he studied for two years.

RICK MARCHESE is an experienced Wall Street and Silicon Valley investment banker having completed nearly 50 transactions totaling over $10 Billion USD and having covered a broad base of public and private financing and M&A advisory assignments across the globe. He has worked with a wide range of clients from venture capital financing for start-ups to strategic advisory for Fortune 50 companies. His industry experience covers Chemicals, Transportation, Telecom, Retailing, Consumer Products, Technology, and Security and Defense industries.
Most recently Rick served as Vice President at Deutsche Bank in their Consumer Products and Retail Client Group in New York where he called on and worked with corporate and private equity clients throughout the world.
Prior to Deutsch Bank, Rick split his time between Merrill Lynch’s Consumer Products Group in New York and their Internet Technology Group in Silicon Valley, California where he led their Internet eCommerce, effort raising capital for growing internet companies and providing strategic advisory for Fortune 500 companies looking to monetize or expand their existing internet businesses.
Rick began his investment banking career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (subsequently acquired by Credit Suisse) as a corporate finance associate in the generalist program. He immediately gained significant transaction experience in emerging markets, private equity and leveraged finance.
Rick has also been extensively involved in interviewing, recruiting, training and staffing analysts and associates at Merrill Lynch and Deustche Bank. He previously taught undergraduate economics at Texas Central College.
Rick is a former U.S. Naval Officer and has an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago – Booth and a B.S. in Economics from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis.

GEORGE SIDJIMKOV is a well seasoned Investment Banker and Private Equity investor with a background on both the sell side as well as buy side of financial transactions. George brings over $8.5 billion in aggregate deal and pitch experience from the past 16 years to IBI Europe.
In his most recent engagement as Investment Director for CFP Capital (Jersey) Ltd. George is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring a portfolio of venture capital investments in technology companies located in the European Union for a EUR 100m fund. In this position George also works with CEOs, CFOs, and other senior managers of portfolio technology companies to develop strategies and make decisions that will help to create economic value.
Previously as CEO of Development Capital Management, George advised the Black Sea Property Fund on acquiring, developing and selling real estate in Eastern Europe. In this role, George led an 11 member team through every stage of the investment process. George began his finance career in 1995 with Deutsche Bank AG in Germany. He ultimately spent 8 years with Deutsche, completing his tenure as an Associate in London with the Global Corporate Finance industry group, where he collaborated on over 22 projects and was responsible for strategic analysis and financial modeling of European companies.
George’s credentials include handling M&A, IPOs, and Recapitalizations of small and medium sized technology companies for Corporate Finance Partners in Frankfurt. On behalf of Charlemagne Capital in London, George worked closely with the Portfolio Manager to structure and execute the divestiture of Eastern European Real Estate assets. George also advised Advent International (London) on the acquisition of the Bulgarian Telecommunication Company. Throughout his career, George has worked with both public and private companies, he has managed the entire transaction process across the full spectrum of investment banking engagements; he also managed the creation of one of the most successful residential developments in Sofia.
George holds an MBA degree from the Yale School of Management in New Haven, Connecticut, USA, with an emphasis on Corporate Finance. He attended Yale on a full scholarship from Deutsche Bank and was the first recipient from DB of such an opportunity. George is fluent in Bulgarian, English and German with a good working knowledge of Russian and Italian.

CAROLA KAMUFF is a seasoned investment banker with over 11 years of transaction experience in M&A at Drueker & Co, Frankfurt (today Leonardo & Co.). As a Vice President, she executed sell-side as well as buy-side mandates, and also restructuring projects, for German Mittelstands companies, private equity houses as well as multinational groups. During her career she acquired a broad range of industry experience, including steel, machinery, leisure, capital goods, consumer goods, retail, infrastructure, and asset management. The transaction values of the transactions she advised on total more than $1.8 billion.
Via secondment, she worked as Associate with Enskilda Securities in London in 2000, where she covered online banking and telecommunications.
Today, she is a management and communication trainer, certified by the dvct (German Coaching and Training Association).
Carola holds a diploma in Mathematics, with economics as a side subject, from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität, Münster, and completed an apprenticeship with BHF-Bank in Frankfurt.

MEHDI ASSADI is a seasoned investment banker with significant experience in M&A, Valuations, and Strategic Advisory. He has advised small to multi-national companies across a spectrum of industries including Internet, Software, Healthcare, Industrial and Logistics.
Currently, Mehdi is a Vice President for the Technology M&A group of Duff & Phelps in their Paris office where he works on both principal investing and buy-side investment banking advisory activities. At Duff & Phelps he works extensively with CEOs, CFOs, and Directors of small to large cap European corporations and International firms. He also has worked extensively with Partners and Investment Directors of European Private Equity firms where he gained extensive experience with LBO modeling, detailed operating models, and private company valuation. He has developed an expertise in Corporate Carve Outs and Spin Offs of large quoted multinational companies seeking to divest complex and troubled assets. He also lectures on Valuation of Startup companies for the European Venture Capital Association as well as for ESSEC, the French business school.
Prior to M&A advisory, Mehdi was a Senior Associate in the Valuation Advisory practice of Duff & Phelps where he executed cross-border purchase price allocations, intellectual property valuations and tax valuations on European cross-border transactions as well as trans-atlantic engagements.

Joel brings a strong track record of proven success in very difficult transactions across a variety of industries and in multiple stages and types of investment to IBI in South Africa.
Joel’s investment banking expertise covers M&A, project & infrastructure finance, private equity investment appraisal & strategy. Joel has experience managing regional business operations balance sheet and profit & loss. He is an expert in process re-engineering, new market entry strategies, cost & efficiency optimisation strategies, introduction of corporate governance best practice, integration of acquisitions and businesses turn-around strategies. Joel brings extensive sub-Sahara Africa strategic, operating and general management experience, having worked as an operator in various multi-national corporations over the 10 years prior moving into the M&A industry. ELI MAGID has over 10 years of experience in investment banking and the capital markets having worked for both the sell-side and buy-side on three different continents. He brings to the training room his significant experience in Valuation, Cross Border M&A, Structured Products, Leveraged Buy-Outs, Principal Investments, Private Placements, Strategic Advisory, Syndication and Carbon Trading.
Eli’s investment banking experience in the US, Europe and Israel includes having worked for the Debt Capital Markets group at Credit Suisse where he structured, executed and marketed $15 billion of securitizations across a diverse credit and product spectrum. Later he worked for Morgan Stanley in London and Tel Aviv facilitating M&A, equity offerings, LBOs, private placements and share buy-back transactions across a wide variety of industries such as telecom, real estate, hi-tech and renewable energy.
His experience on the buy-side includes working for Hyperion Capital (now Hyperion Brookfield) where Eli’s responsibilities included fixed income research and portfolio modeling. In addition he worked for hedge fund Fortress Investment Group’s Drawbridge Special Opportunities Fund analyzing potential debt and equity real estate opportunities. This task included generating quantitative models calculating the level of risk and internal rate of return of prospective investments.
Currently, Eli is a financial markets entrepreneur and Co-Founder of a start-up which utilizes carbon finance to prevent rainforest destruction. Eli is also the Co-Founder and Director of social venture FinTechIsrael, a blog and live community which connects Israeli entrepreneurs, industry professionals, investors, and students.
Eli has a degree in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University and is US SEC NASD licensed for the Series 7 and 63.

- Structured the re-capitalization of $4.3 billion of real estate debt for IndyMac
- Lead-managed the capital raising of a combined $2.7 billion in asset backed financing for Chevy Chase Bank
- Co-managed a $784 million debt capital markets issuance for HSBC
- Acquisition advisory for an Israeli solar panel manufacturer, ultimately acquired for $418 million
- Managed the execution and syndication of a $336 million debt capital markets issuance for Société Générale
- Pre-private placement valuation advisory for a $220 million West African telecom company
- Advised Bezeq (TASE:BEZQ), Israeli’s largest telecommunications company, on an equity offering
- Managed a share buy-back transaction for a dual NYSE-TASE listed mobile point-of-sales payments company
- Acquisition advisory for a large publicly traded international container shipping company
- LBO of a publicly traded European gaming company
