Internships can be a great way to get started in the industry and getting the right internship requires the relevant skills and dedication. As a value added service to our students, (included in the tuition), we constantly seek available internships and tailor complete resume and cover letter revision, along with interview preparation for each student's needs.

The addition of the skills learned through this training program to our graduate's resumes has significantly enhanced their ability to secure summer analyst and associate intern positions as well as full and part-time internships at any time of year both with and without our assistance. Investment Banking Internship

Job Description:

Investment Banking Analyst Interns support the investment banking team by providing analytical support on public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and other financial advisory services for our clients across a variety of industries. Interns conduct research, assist with company valuations and financial models, and help prepare client presentations. Through broad exposure to both junior and senior bankers, interns learn skills that will prepare them for a full-time career in Investment Banking. Candidates must be eager and able to learn in a fast-paced, challenging environment. The Financial Intern position often leads to a full time opportunity at the firm after completing undergraduate studies.

Qualifications:

Candidates should be in their junior year and must have a proven academic record (minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0) and a strong interest in finance. The Financial Analyst Intern position requires a full-time minimum 3 month commitment during the summer. Accounting, Business, Economics and Finance concentrations are preferred, but not mandatory. The ideal candidate will:
  • possess a strong work ethic and a record for excellence

2010 Summer Analyst Program-Investment Banking Department

Description:
  • Summer Analysts who join the organization are provided with a broad-based investment banking experience. After a week of orientation and intensive training, Summer Analysts will join a generalist group in the Chicago and begin to actively participate in a variety of transactions ranging from M&A advisory work to debt and equity offerings. Assignments can be domestic and cross-border. Summer Analysts will be involved in every aspect of transaction analysis and execution from start (pitch/marketing) to finish (close/pricing). Summer Analysts will be expected to conduct research and build technical abilities by using the financial statement analysis, accounting and valuation techniques taught during the intern training program.
  • The company offers the unique opportunity of working in a collegial and supportive environment. The Investment Banking Department’s culture encourages and offers early recognition for achievement, in addition to increased responsibility. Summer Analysts will sit in on conference calls and meetings with senior bankers for briefings on current deals and client assignments. By the end of the internship program, Summer Analysts will function as full-time Analysts.
  • The Summer Internship Program lasts 10 weeks and is targeted to students entering their senior year. In addition to the experience and education acquired on the job, interns have the opportunity to participate in educational seminars, and various social and networking events.
